Damselfly Ecogeography

odies2001i-kellicotti-b

2d-ord-bWe are conducting studies of damselfly community structure across an assemblage of lakes in central and western Maine in collaboration the Maine’s Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. The goal of this project is to relate community composition to lake and habitat characteristics in an effort to better understand the habitat requirements of damselflies and to better predict the geographic distributions of rare damselfly species in the state. This research combines extensive field work involving damselfly and habitat sampling with intensive statistical analysis and GIS mapping employing UMF’s Spatial Ecology Lab.
